Groundbreaking Ceremony in Svilengrad
On October 4, 2013, an official ceremony marked the beginning of the construction of the sewerage network in the "Kapitan Petko Voyvoda" neighborhood in Svilengrad. This is part of the project "Construction, Reconstruction, and Modernization of Sewerage Network, WWTP, and Water Supply Network in the City of Svilengrad."
The groundbreaking was carried out by Malina Krumova, head of the managing authority of the Operational Program "Environment," the mayor of the city, Eng. Georgi Manolov, and the General Director of "Raicommerce Construction," Blagoy Kozarev. The event was also attended by Member of Parliament Zhara Peneva, Deputy Regional Governor Ivan Stanchev, Chairman of the Municipal Council-Svilengrad Georgi Elenkov, and Head of ViK Haskovo Atanas Barzev.
During the project implementation, a 21 km sewerage network covering the entire neighborhood will be constructed, and 13 km of water pipelines will be reconstructed. Two discharge facilities and two new sewer pumping stations will also be built. The existing pumping station on the left bank of the Maritsa River will be completely reconstructed and modernly equipped. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
