Teams from "Raicommerce Construction" replaced three valves weighing over 9 tons in a reservoir in "Modern Suburb"
Teams from "Raicommerce Construction" replaced three gate valves with a diameter of 800 and a total weight of over 9 tons in the dry chamber of the "Modern Suburb" reservoir in Sofia. The facility supplies drinking water to a large part of the "Lyulin" residential complex, as well as the neighborhoods of "Krasna Polyana" and "Western Park." The installation, part of planned replacements by "Sofiyska Voda," was completed on May 16, 2018, in record time. Thanks to the swift actions of the teams, the water supply to 12,000 households in "Lyulin" was restored 4 hours earlier than planned.
In just 6 hours, two teams from the water supply and sewerage (WSS) construction and maintenance department, in cooperation with an external water supply team from "Sofiyska Voda," managed to replace the old worn-out valves with new ones. The water shutoff associated with such installation activities typically takes between 10 to 20 hours. To reduce this timeframe, the employees of "Raicommerce Construction" conducted preliminary preparations. On June 15, 2018, a team of experienced plumbers along with highly skilled welders removed the old rusty bolts of the valves and replaced them with new ones. These prior actions significantly reduced the work required to dismantle the valves on the actual day of the replacement.
The experienced specialists from the company have experienced such activities before. Last year, "Raicommerce Construction" replaced 20 gate valves with a diameter of 800 and numerous smaller ones. Currently, the teams are also working on "Graf Ignatiev" and "Solunska" streets in Sofia, where all the old valves are scheduled to be replaced. These installations are commissioned by "Sofiyska Voda" and aim to improve the infrastructure of the capital, which is a primary priority for "Raicommerce Construction."
